Welcome to Showdown International's Online Test Riding Clinic!
This an easy way to get experienced trainer feedback with advice on how to improve without leaving the comfort of your own yard.
I am a UKCC3 level coach and BD listed trainer. I am an Inter regional team coach. Before focusing on Dressage I have worked in racing, eventing and showjumping which introduced me to many different breeds and methods of training, which I feel gives me an open mind when it comes to training horses for Dressage.
I want the best for BOTH horse AND rider, whether it is me and my horses or my clients and their horses. I like to see combinations feel happy and empowered in their training whether they compete or not. I preach what I practise so I like to set goals that are ambitious but achievable. As a coach my job is to inspire and give confidence and as a professional rider I am constantly striving to be better than I was yesterday.
I have been a list 5 BD judge for 15 years. I have competed up to PSG and gained a 63% in PSG Freestyle before my mare had to retire. We qualified for Regionals in Advanced Medium Freestyle.
I have ridden all Grand Prix movements on schoolmasters at Laura Fry's and Vicky Thompson's, and have trained with John Lasseter, Adam Kemp, the late Cyril Johnson, and Tony Dampier.
I have put together freestyle music and plans for all levels of rider up to Grand Prix and for riding club events and para riders.
In my other life, I used to teach maths. I now am a church organist and sing in Bury Church choir.
Professional competition rider and equestrian coach.
